A Brief History of Compunet
Managing our customers IT through the various technology cycles since 1987.
From a living room in Cork Compunet was founded and began supplying spare parts and maintenance for word processor systems, and also began convincing small companies that computerisation was not just for big companies with big budgets.
Moved into its first office in the City Centre. Now supporting IBM Dos based word processing and accounting software, and with Microsoft 3.0 around the corner, the founding Directors Rory O’Connor and Bill Maher set about expanding the customer base.
A changing of the guard as the founding Directors phase the leadership of Compunet over to long term support engineers Jason Burns and Tony Healy. Compunet now began to focus on Cloud technology, becoming a Microsoft partner in its first Cloud offering, then called ‘BPOS’, now 365. Focus begins on international customers setting up in Cork and Compunet becomes a key technology partner to assist in their setup and scale.
Acquires Managed Services customer base of TSG as it migrates customers onto Cloud and managed services. Begins on a pathway to Azure specialist and Microsoft Gold partner and migrates many large customers through full cloud transformation.
With over 30 year’s experience in designing and delivering innovative IT solutions to clients, this has allowed Compunet to become a leading IT provider to SME and Enterprise clients alike.
